Dolly Qianyu Wu is a filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist whose work moves between cinema, textiles, and performance.

Her films explore memory, intimacy, and the emotional undercurrents of everyday life, often blending poetic abstraction with grounded human experience. She works with a sensorial cinematic language that prioritizes atmosphere, embodiment, and the subtle shifts in how people relate to themselves and one another.

Currently based in the Netherlands and studying at Design Academy Eindhoven, she combines moving image with textile-based experimentation and conceptual garments. These material elements often become extensions of character and narrative—physical traces of emotion, identity, or transformation within her films.

Her background in drawing, design, and expressive writing allows her to craft visually attentive, emotionally resonant stories. She writes both prose and screenplays, approaching each film with a balance of intuition and precise visual construction.

Born in China and now living in the Netherlands, she is developing a growing body of cinematic work that spans experimental, documentary, and hybrid forms. Her practice moves with her—shifting, evolving, and continuously searching for new ways to feel, see, and narrate the world.
